WAM were runners up in this competition for a new footbridge in Rochester. The concept was to make ‘A Place’ for an Event to happen. Events beyond merely the act of bridge crossing. The Events might be: ambling along the enchanted path through the forest; perhaps a chance meeting with a friend; the opportunity to gaze: an unexpected view; to wander; to smell; to touch; to hear and to learn from the wooded landscape and surrounding environment; or to zip across on your bike triggering the deck mounted lights as you ride past.
