WAM took an existing barn and associated out buildings that had previously been converted to form an office space and reconfigured them to provide a coherent and open floor plan with a new centrally covered court yard space and dedicated entrance. This now provides a focus to the workplace, a space that successfully combines working, meeting and greeting spaces into one ‘agora’ that is used by all members of the business team for all types of work. The building now successfully connects into this space allowing the business to operate in more open and collaborative environment. The material of choice to connect these spaces visually is the humble ply panel – used as wall and ceiling panels to stunning effect in a deceptively simple way. Our designs are always conscious of specifying materials that are sustainable and easily recycled.
